Support for Children

Supporting Every Child at Victoria Road Primary School

At Victoria Road Primary School, we believe in nurturing the well-being and success of every child. Our dedicated Family Liaison Officer, Mrs. Vincent, plays a crucial role in supporting our families. She works closely with parents and carers to provide guidance, support, and resources, ensuring a strong partnership between home and school.

Our pastoral provision is designed to cater to the unique needs of each student. We recognise that every child is different and may require varying levels of support. To address this, we implement a comprehensive approach that includes whole-school, class-based, and individual support strategies.

Whole-School Support: We foster a positive school culture where every child feels safe, valued, and included. Our school-wide initiatives promote social-emotional learning, resilience, and mutual respect amongst all pupils.

Class-Based Support: Teachers incorporate pastoral care into everyday classroom activities, creating a supportive and inclusive environment. This includes regular check-ins and activities that promote emotional well-being and social skills.

Individual Support: For children who need additional assistance, we provide tailored interventions. These might involve one-on-one sessions with our pastoral team, including Mrs. Vincent, to address specific concerns and develop personalised support plans.

By working collaboratively with families and utilising a range of support approaches, we aim to ensure that every child at Victoria Road Primary School thrives academically, socially, and emotionally.

Outside of school: These support agencies are always available and have a wealth of valuable information. Kooth is specifically for children over the age of 10.
