How we communicate
We greatly value our partnership with parents and communicate in a variety of ways.
We are keen to improve our carbon footprint and use digital communication as much as we can. Our school uses the School Gateway App and we would urge all our parents to download this App to their phones for an easy way to book clubs, trips, events and lunches on the go.
All our newsletters, correspondence and messages will be sent out via School Gateway. You can also find copies of school newsletters under the "Information for Parents" tab. Termly Class newsletters and individual class information are available on the class pages under the ‘Our Learning’ section of the website.
Here - 'Getting Started' you can access information for parents on the School Gateway App and also instructions on how to download and begin using the App. We have also included 'Guides' on various topics that you may need assistance with. Follow the link to the 'How/Do I?/FAQ'S' information sheet that may assist you further with any questions that you have.
We can provide paper copies of correspondence if you are unable to access the App, but you will need to contact the school office and register your need for a paper copy.
We have a Facebook page ‘Victoria Road Primary School’ and will upload any forthcoming events on this. Please follow us to help spread the word of our school achievements and see all the exciting things we get up to!
You can message us via our email address school@victoria-road.kent.sch.uk or through our website on the ‘About Us’ section under contact details.
We have an open-door policy and welcome any parent or carer who has any concerns or suggestions to talk to us to help us improve our service. A member of staff will always be on the front gate in the mornings and evenings to welcome parents and children into the school, so please do have a chat with them then or use them to make an appointment in the office.
If you have a problem and would like to speak to a member of staff it is suggested that you initially speak to your child’s class teacher first. There will be times that staff are unavailable but if you can make contact through the School Office, they will be able to book a time to speak to the correct member of staff as soon as possible.
This is not the only method we communicate with parents and carers. There are parent consultation sessions, drop in sessions and special events.
Remember – if you have any concerns, problems or feedback for us please speak to us - tell us, not Facebook.
